Haklift quick check tool is intended to be used for lifting chains manufactured according to the EN 818-2 standard. It is applicable for both G80 and G100, and covers nominal sizes 6, 7, 8, 10, 13 and 16 mm. The tool can be used to quickly measure the permissible or exceeding elongation and wear of the chain.
Dimensional slots for elongation operate on “GO” principle, i.e. the chain link must fit into the slot, or otherwise it will signal possible excessive elongation. Dimensional slots for wear operate on “NO GO” principle, i.e. the rod profile of the chain link must not fit into the slot – if it does, it will signal possible excessive wear of the chain link.
Due to the manufacturing tolerances of the above-mentioned standard, the nominal length and diameter dimensions of lifting chains may vary by batch, so the measurements (results) of the tool are generally valid and cannot be considered absolute truth. If the tool gives a signal of possible elongation or wear, the measurement procedures should be carried out with a proper caliper and in proportion to the individual dimensions of the lifting chain in question. If necessary, see separate instructions for G80 and G100 lifting chains (can be found on the Haklift website).
